The Phoenix comes with 3 skills that are fully upgraded to their maximum level, as listed below:

    Pounce (lvl 2)
-This skill has a cooldown of 60 seconds and gives an 80% of stunning the target for 3 seconds and increasing attack rate by 25% for 15 seconds. It is great for PvP, and occasionally useful for PvE. The maximum skill level for this skill is lvl. 2, so don't worry about upgrading it.

    Claw (lvl 5)
-This skill raises the attack of your pet by 30% for one hour. 'Nuff said

    ???? (lvl 5)
-I don't remember the name of this skill off-hand, but it raises the pet's maximum hp by 30% for one hour. Again, self-explanatory.

The 4th skill slot is left open for your choice of a final skill. I highly recommend getting Flesh Ream for this skill, as it is AMAZING in PvP. Ignore people who say that the skill is bugged and thus, cheap. You just spent 160+ gold on this pet, and you deserve the best.

Again, if you go to the pet skill trainer, or the zoologist, and click on "Learn Pet Skills," a window will open up. Even if you do not have any skills to teach your pet, you can click on "Skill Tree." This shows a complete description of every skill that your pets can learn.
*Note: not all of these skills are available yet in this version, and some are only available through the legendary pets.

The stats for the phoenix are a full green circle, maxed out on everything. Keep in mind, though, that the Phoenix only eats hay...

I hope this helps you in deciding on whether or not to get one. If you do, expect to buy the arcane pet book every week; it costs 2 gold, and keeps your pet satisfied for 7 days. You can grind enough coin to buy 2 gold every week, and it is the only way that having a legendary pet is possible. That way, the only thing you need hay for is to raise its loyalty.

I also have the Hercules pet, and it is great for PvE. It also comes with pounce (which i deleted for either roar or bash), and 3 stat-buff skills. One to boost physical defense by 150% for one hour, one to boost magical resistance by 150% for one hour, and one to reflect 70% of melee damage back to the attacker for one hour. Basically, at lvl 44, I was using him to solo grind off lvl 88-90 mobs. He is un-killable in PvE.

Good-luck in deciding on the legendary pets. I couldn't decide, so I got them both ^_^

    Hope this all helps!

Average is 186.5 gold, but since the packs are random you should plan for some variance. You could get unlucky and it will take less, or you could get unlucky and it will take more.

With a 40 silver per pack sale, that drops to 149.2 gold average. With a 30 silver sale (they ran one during Christmas), it's 111.9 gold average.
