I hear that some flying pet is very good in PVP because of some 'bleed' skill. IDK if this skill is automatically learned from the petite sawfly or if the skill is learned from one of the books you have to buy. Or can any flying pet learn the bleed skill? Thanks!^^
IF you can also answer please do...What flying pet is the best for PVP (Other than the phoenix)

The sawfly does not automatically come with the bleed skill, you have to buy it and upgrade it to atleast lvl 3 before it can be effective in PvP...... it's a boatload of money you're going to have to spend.... and yes a sawfly with maxed bleed is the 2nd best PvP pet, right behind the phoenix0

While that may be true, players are starting to switch over to the foxwings in PvP now.
The foxwings have much higher hp. and defenses, thus allowing them to withstand more punishment.
Most people do not want to level-up 2 different air pets, and the sawfly is **** in PvE. The foxwing is excellent in PvE, and is most likely the 2nd best air pet for PvP (Besides the phoenix).
Overall, any character is not going to be doing just PvP. You still have all your quests to do that involve PvE battles. For them, the foxwing is much better because it can actually survive long enough to tank for you, and do some damage.
No matter how strong your sawfly is, it will not be able to compete with the survivability of a foxwing. The only way a sawfly is good is if the person you are attacking focuses on you, and not your pet. The sawfly can be killed in 2 or less hits, leaving you completely vulnerable. If other classes ever figure that out, instead of ignoring the pet, then you are dead.
The foxing can also learn Flesh Ream; any pet can learn any skill, provided you purchase the skill book from the zoologist in Archasaur. When you are in TW, there isn't much time between one battle to the next. The sawfly may be more efficient for just one PvP battle, but If you have another target to attack or several nearby, your sawfly will be dead far too fast.
I personally recommend, depending on how serious you are with playing this game, getting the phoenix. This does not have to be done immediately; you could set aside 15 bucks a week on it. You would hardly notice that missing, and after 10 weeks, you have enough money set aside for the phoenix. In the mean time, use a foxwing. It's better as an all-around pet.
You are in PvP for an average of 5% of your playing time each week, and in PvE for an average of 95% of your playing time per week. Foxwing is the clear choice, and you can get one starting at lvl 34, I believe.
sorry for the long post....

Well majority of players ignore pets in pvp.
Personally I tried a pinear foxwing[the lowest] and the sawfly, got them both up to 60 and liked the sawfly more, because it did over double the damage of the foxwing. The foxwing truely wasnt strong enough to hold aggro even with upgraded skills(an dI'm a light veno..) and really wasnt much more defensive then the sawfly. Anyways now I use a phoenix, and its 100x better then either of those could dream to be.0 -
yeah; the highest i could get my sawfly up to was lvl 23. It died far too easily from mobs, making leveling it a pain. If the other classes were smart in PvP, 2 hitting your pet would leave you extremely vulnerable and force you to retreat or out-damage you and kill you.
I also use a phoenix, so i do have not leveled up either the sawfly or the foxwing. All i meant to do was compare the effectiveness of each pet in PvP and PvE. Although, at higher levels, the training and stat growth can affect the roles of each pet in both PvE and PvP, so I cant speak for what happens after lvl 50 at this time. You would know more about that at lvl 60 than I do, but by then, each player will have developed their own unique play style and strategy for dealing with certain threats.
My personal style of play depends on my pet being able to take a few extra hits in PvE and PvP, as most classes can kill a sawfly with a well-placed AoE, where-as the foxwing could withstand it.
Last week in our TW, I observed this by killing another veno's sawfly with 2 hits, meanwhile my phoenix was attacking her. After her pet was dead, i just went into fox form and sat there healing my pet and swapping mp and hp until she ran away with little health left. Later, the same veno came after me with a foxwing. My pheno was busy attacking someone else, and with little health left, I decided to see how strong the foxwing was. I died after getting 3 shots on the foxwing, and it still had a little health left.0 -
Well that probably isnt the best guage of strength via pets. Who knows if that venos pets were evenly leveled, and the hp's the pets had when you attacked. I do agree it's completly preference and Phoenix ownes all0

how'd you get the money for a phoenix at lvl 44? I can't even get 1 mil...I figured I should do something with my sig, so I made this for fun. My very first (poorly made) animation. b:victory

As for why Luffy is murdering Naruto, I have no idea either, but it looks cool.b:laugh0 -
I used 150 Gold, and bought the rest in-game.
Its not very hard... With a veno using a golem, I was able to solo grind lvl 50 mobs at lvl 23. If you wait until lvl 30, you can do it fairly easy, and get the dq item drops. Selling them to NPC, earns you good cash. Plus you will lvl up faster. It DOES require a large time devotion, though. I spent 3 weeks of doing nothing but griding to earn enough money to buy the remaining 1.5 million coin worth of feathers I needed. But it's worth it.
Since you have around 129 posts atm, I have to assume that you have been around for a while, but not long enough to figure out how to get your picture and lvl on your avatar on the forums. I'm guessing you are somewhere between lvl 30-45?
At that level, you will never be able to buy the pet in-game. You will have to buy gold online. The GM's did that on purpose. They want to make money, and you will never get 20 million in-game without the cash-shop unless you are the greediest guild leader ever (and subsequently, the worst). lol
Goodluck and I hope you get the pheno if that's what you're after ^_^0 -
I see a lot of love for Foxwings in this topic. >:]
I love when some fatty barb tries to kill mine, thinking it's a 2-hit bee, and it ticks his charm, and I kill him. ^^;Wall sniping, ninja tree magic, and medium range artillery. Whine less, please. b:lipcurl

^_^ thats epic!
I loved my foxwing also (before I got the Pheno).
The bee only remains a threat as long as it is completely ignored, and if it's truly a threat, it will not be ignored. The foxwing also has the added bonus of actually being useful in PvE. There is no way the defenses are similar to a foxwing of the same level >50. Just look at the stat growth chart in-game. Much better. You can use it to tank for you, and its damage is still pretty good. Just use the lvl 34 pinnear foxwing.0
