Refining Equipment and Mirage Stone?

I am a lvl 21 wizard who is thinking about refining my equipment. My first thought was to hold on too my mirage stones for use at a higher lvl. Is this the best course of action?

    I have heard that it's best to wait until lvl 60 before you start refining equipment. This is probably because lower than that you just get new equipment so soon, that you might as well wait until you upgrade. I don't see any other reason really... at least if you're only going to refine by one or two levels. Because beyond that it gets REALLY expensive to make it actually WORK.

    But it's not about mirage stones being so hard to come by, because at higher levels 40k is chump change, and that's what they sell for.

    That is kinda what I figured. I have been getting a new weapon every 2 or 3 lvls. Cool, well I think that is what I will do than is just wait and not waste my stones. Plus I am finding that when you manufacture equipment you can get some pretty good bonuses if you focus on it enough.
