Suggestion on PKing.

Well, i've been hearing alot of people crying about a higher level PKer killing them while they were trying to quest.
If this becomes a true problem, which I know alot of people are going to say it is a problem, even though they joined in a PvP server on their own.
The suggestion is to put a cap on PKing.
Such as, a level 50, can only PK down to a level 40 or something.
If not that, then maybe a cap that works like this.
A level 50 can PK a level 30-39 if they attack him first.
I think this would help a lot of the new players..
PKing same level people and killing them is fine, but when a level 70 is PKing a level 31, that's just getting sad.
Yes, it may be funny, but it ruins giving anyone a chance, which will cause more people to quit this game.

I knew I would get a response like this, what if the people want to pk higher level people, but don't get a chance because they are getting slaughtered and losing all of their experience any time they try and level up?
I know that the people knew the risk when joining, but there should be some limits on this, because if not they are going to lose a lot of new players that like to PK and PvP without making it hell to even get close to a high level.0 -

The items are only if you're red-named. If you're not, the chance of dropping an item may still be there, but it's neglectably small, less than 1%. Also, never afk in a non-safe zone on LC. =P

Games aren't really that serious to me, i'm pretty chill on them but I hear these people crying about it constantly.. Just looking for ideas on how to stop the people from crying all the time.. It gets annoying seeing like "I HATE RQ BECAUSE THEY PKED ME AT A HIGHER LEVEL."

This is a PvP server ... Why would you join it, then complain about people killing you? If you dont want to get killed, join a PvE server!

Okay, I could see people claiming this is bad idea, but quitting because they couldn't be blatant bullies anymore? is the fun of PKing really in beating up people who stand absolutely zero chance against you? I think that says a lot about the character of the PK mindset if they think "not being able to pick on people ridiculously lower level than you" constitutes an emoquittable problem.0

well, i understand radicality's point and yes it is annoying if a high lvl pker hogs one spot when you are on a quest and cannot finish it immediately due to that, but as others stated before, if you join a pvp server you take the risk of getting pked. if you don't want it play on a pve server. i prefer being able to drop people who get in my way instead of them being protected just because they are lower lvl or in some sort of peace mode where you cannot touch them.
and seriously i think the argument of people wanting to pk higher levels so that's why they join a pve server is somewhat lacks logic, since they will have a hard time killing someone 10 lvls higher than them or even more..
except for that person they want to pk has no/bad gear and/or doesn't know how to play his char. in that case i think those people deserve being pked as well, since they take advantage of weaker ones.
so same right for all.
if you get pked, bad luck. just go to a different spot. it's not like you cannot do other things ingame and have to stick to one quest until you finished it.
i've used to play games where you even dropped gear, inventory stuff and lost up to 8% exp when only a mob killed you, so i really do not agree when people cry about getting pked when they chose to be on a pk server..: Being able to read and think at the same time is an advantage :.0 -

i dont think you understand the point... and i know you, your a high lvl yourself that has a red name(i see all O_O) and its not about being pked... its about being harassed my pkers who are a ridiculously higher lvl that you...0 -
what do you consider harassment? in my opinion there is two people for that. one person doing it and the other one taking it as such.
simply ignore them and go to a different spot. and if someone insults you badly simply report that person.
those people harassing find it fun pissing off others, so if you show that you are pissed off, they reach their goals.

its not about making it a non pking game, its about putting a lvl limit on who you can pk... heres an example... you go to secret passage to kill a boss monster for a quest and OMG look who's there... a lvl 7x person that hates me! (atempts to run pass that person) bam taken out in 1 hit! that person wont be leaning that area anytime soon and thats your only quest that you have atm... what to do now?0 -

having a level restriction is almost like having a non pk game.
for example:
what is the point in being the best on the server if all the people who are way lower level than me can hide behind their level and annoy me?
or what is the point in being in a guild if you guildies cannot help you with a pker cause they are too high level?
so no, def. not a good idea.
also, if that person hates you there usually is a reason for it.
so it always takes 2 for a situation like that.

How can someone "hide behind their level and annoy you" or "be in your way"?
If someone is taunting you verbally, blacklist them. problem solved.
If they attack you, you can defend yourself (i.e. nuke them). problem solved.
They can't be killing mobs you need because they're too low level to survive the mobs you need. no problem to solve.
The only good argument I read here is "your guildmates might not be able to help you" (I guess if, for example, you're level 30 and a level 39 attacks you, and everyone in your guild except you is over 50). So I'd say this: anytime you attack someone, you not only open yourself up to them attacking back, you open yourself up to anyone in their guild (or the party they were in at the time of attack) attacking back for up to SomeNumber of hours. Now if someone attacks someone in your faction or party, you can kill them right back. problem solved.
The only problem left unsolved is "I want to make people who are far lower level than me hate the game for no other reason than to raise my epeen." Gee, darn, sorry, don't want or need to solve that problem.

ever thought that you might have other chars in this game and not just one and would like to actually use your high lvl char as backup?
plus why whining about pk? just lvl up yourself and return the favor.

i get what your trying to say but i dont think you still understand the point of this post... ppl wouldnt be mad about being pked if the person who pked them was closer to there lvl rather than a 7x person running around killing ppl who have 0% chance... any playing on a pvp server becouse we are scared of being pked dont make sence... ppl would wanna pk but a bunch of high lvls running around killing low lvls and preventing them from questing? bleh. and if some one annoys you, do what that other guy said, pking ppl isnt always the answer b:bye0 -

You're saying "oh, the people trying to their fb29 are whiners!" but I'm not asking about the victims. I'm asking about the attackers.

That's why my questions is phrased thusly:

i hate repeating myself..
this is a pk game means the strongest survives. i play to be the strongest ingame not to have a happy family online. the game lives from drama, if it's too much for you then pk games aren't the right choice for you, sorry.
just leave the pk server then to the people who accept the pk part.
why did you go on a pk server anyways if you cry about it? why not the pve servers for you then?

I personally play PvE. Never touched a PvP server. The reason I'm in this thread is to try to get insight into the mind of a blatant bully -- find out what motivates them to hassle people who cannot even lift a finger against them.
I find it interesting that you say "all you guys are interested in is your own fun, not the fun of others." when you seem to be saying that the PK mindset is all about... ruining the fun of others for one's own fun!
You say "it's just a game" but then you have ignored that people devote significant time and sometimes money to the game. if I destroy someone's stamp collection, I can say, "it's just a hobby. he can stop whining and collect some more" but I'd still be the jerk in that situation -- I have taken their significant investment of time and money and wasted it for my own fun (without consideration of his fun at all).

To take a higher level example of what I'm talking about: it takes about 10-12 hours of TT runs to get a TT60 sword. When someone L90 PKs you and takes it and says "haha, it's just a game!" they have robbed you of more than a game item, they have robbed you 12 hours of your real, actual life.0 -

mind discussing without getting personal? you do not know anything about my pk/non-pk manners. if you are too heated up from the discussion cool down and continue when you can talk normally and argue in a proper manner. thanks.

some do it just as stress relieve, some just to **** people off (what mostly works on people who lost themselves in the game completely and use it as a second life sadly), some as self defense only where i would more categorize myself for example, except for i had a bad day at work xD but then again i am a chicken and afraid of losing gear so i prefer not to if possible.
and i guess there are also those people who do it cause they cannot kill people irl without going to jail.. those i really pity.. but i think those are an exception and rare..: Being able to read and think at the same time is an advantage :.0 -

you still haven't my question unfortunately.
why do you play on a pk server if you dislike it?
just so you can complain about it afterwards and have it changed so the fun of all the people who are ok with it is ruined?
what is your motivation of playing on a pk server if you start a complaint about it?
i would rather complain that you cannot pk right from lvl 1 on since it is pretty annoying when you can't when you want to if people annoy you.
oh and yes of course now you will say you can block people if they annoy you, but this game is all about competition, competition in the sense that you want to be the best and the only one who is the best.
so i do want to show that i am better than others, otherwise no point in playing this type of game. then i could as well stick to my ps3.
so whoever steps into my way will get to know me. that's what i expect from a pk server. and if a lvl 70 pks me randomly then i simply do not care.
sooner or later i will be higher lvl than him anyways and then he as well will get to know me..: Being able to read and think at the same time is an advantage :.0
