When does it get better... -.-

So I just hit level 20 on my Blademaster and was hoping that Aeolian blade would be a large damage improvement... that I would finally kill monsters at a decent rate...

Heh. After nearly dying to a level 15 mob (no life powder up ofc, but still) I got pretty fed up and logged off.

Does the damage ever really improve? I don't think I can stand leveling this class if it doesnt...

    It gets better at lvl 60+, and you shine at lvl 80+

    You still have a long way to go.

    And what is your skill points like, I dont remember having that much trouble at lvl 20!

    Eh, It was a particularly hard mob. Didnt help that my weapon was horrible.

    I got the FB19 glaive and that's helped a good bit but I still feel that my damage is pretty meh compared to almost anything my level (dont really see any barbs to comment on their damage, so I dunno).

    Skills are mostly at 1 right now because guides saying it isnt worth leveling pretty much any skill I have. First good skill it said to start maxxing (first damage one, I have 3 pts in the +pdef buff) was Aoelian blade.

    That's your problem :: You are not leveling your skills. Pick a tree, and go with it. If you do not level your skills you will continue to have problems.

    Max draw blood out of the three if you have to choose. Tiger maw and stream strike is pretty much useless.

    I had already picked the axe/hammer tree, don't worry about that =P
    The problem is GETTING to level 29... =X

    Oh well, I've started playing an archer anyway-- he's already outleveled my BM with much more ease (except level 18, that sucked pretty bad but hey, better than how long it takes my bm to kill -.-).

    Well it can stack with piercing wind, and can eventually out damage the other two skills. But it's IF you had to choose between the three skills. I can't say it's very useful to me in general, but it's the better out of the three. The only time I used it is when I'm trying to kill a boss and there is a spear BM with me. I just use it to help her stack her bleed.

    For BM's their trees don't start until 29, until then its just the singular trunk. Then with Weapon choice is the tree they branch into. Also, whoever said not to level the early skills was both absolutely correct & absolutely wrong. It's 100% true that until Aeolian Blade your low level damage skills wont be used later in the game. BUT, the amount of skill points you'd put in them is astronomically small in the grand scheme that maybe, maybe, you'd miss out on 1/2 a level worth of skill points in 1 skill overall (200,000+ skill points per level per skill in your 70's, putting 10k into 3-4 levels of tiger maw is nothing). Basically, i would have advised levelling those skills to help out early game damage, but then STOPping as soon as later skills come about, and tucking away the early skills to never be used or levelled again.
