would getting an external hard drive reduce lagging??
and can it help reduce the flicker problems??

    no, probably not. these issues usually arise from the processor or the graphics card and have nothing to do with the hard drive at all. sometimes lag is also caused by an internet connection being slow or malfunctioning.
