Sockets

okay, i'm new to this game and i ran a search for socket questions and wound up with nothing.

so i was just wondering is sockets are considered rare in this game? i've played other mmorpgs that have socketed gear and they were considered rare.

and it seems to me that you can only have 2 sockets in weapons, and 4 in armor? can other items be socketed?

are sockets even that big of a deal in this game?

    its not rare to have socketed weapons and armor

    however it does play a rather important role i would think considering you can really change your weapons or armors worth with good stones, you can also make your weapons/armor glow if you put the right stones in them

    oh okay, thanks. i just picked up an armor with 3 sockets from some monster, but it's just regular armor only with sockets. do you think it's worth keeping/using or should i look more into the refined stuff?
