crafting query

Ok, I have read the guide at the top of this thread and it didn't answer my confusion.

I have a mid lvl venomancer and I have collected lots of mats for crafting, I've 10/10 of lvl1 in each individual manufacturing skill but everytime I go to try and craft lvl2 equipment (for which I have the ingredients) the 'start' button is blanked out. When I first noticed this a while ago I did try to continue crafting on my already full bar of lvl1, but ofcourse I wasted those ingredients because it doesn't continue into lvl2.

Can anyone tell me why this might be occurring please?

    Go to your elder (or several other NPC's, but I don't know which ones) and select 'Learn manufacturing skill'. You should be able to get lvl 2 in the skills there.
