Ventrilo

I apologize if I shouldnt post this here but I dont know how else to get what I need.
My faction has started to use ventrilo, and I thought that I would like to try it as well. I have never done anything related to this before and that is why I am pretty lost.
First of all I wanted to know if I had the right equipment to use vent. Appparently nothing is needed to listen to others speak besides headphones or regualr computer speaker. A micrphone, however is obviosly required to speak to others.
I wasnt sure if I had anything that would work, but my leader mentioned that he is using an old PS2 mic and pluging it into a USB port. I was pleased to hear this because I also had a PS2 mic. I am having trouble to get my computer to recognize the microphone and I would appreciate any help how to get this to work.

PWE can't officially support that sorta stuff, but I can try my best. Can you describe the manufacturer and model of microphone, and your current operating system?[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0

I am using Mixrosoft XP. The Microphone is made by Logitech not sure model but it says "Canada ICES-003 CLASS B" "M/N:A-0060A"0

That should be autodetected. Try shutting down the computer, plugging the microphone in, and starting up the computer. Go to Control Panel -> System, click the Hardware tab, and then click Device Manager. Select any component, and click the "Detect New Hardware" button at the top of the applet.
You should see the microphone detected. You'll need to do some settings in Control Panel -> Audio to set it as default input and deal with volume issues.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -
Okay that helped alot thanks. My computer is detecting the mic, and under the voice tab in sounds and audio I was able to select the mic, but when I did test hardware it didnt get any sound....0
