I have always been confused about how good your pets are in relationship to their original level and the level they are now.
It doesnt make sense to me that the best non rare pet can be caught at lvl 17. Shouldnt higher levels be able to get better pets that lower levels cant get?
I think this game may need more pet diversity. Instead of 90% of venos running around with the same pet.(I think you can guess which one I am talking about), maybe the pets should get better as you go along like everything else in the game. I am sure there is a reason for this but I cant think of it.
I am tired of the same ol' pets and the fact that any noob can get it and just level it.
I do understand that the pets are leveled and so higher level players have higher level, and therefor better, pets.
So I just need some info. I also want to know if pets that are caught at a higher level will eventually out-perform pets that you caught low and have leveled yourself.

No, higher level pets usually won't end up as powerful as a pet you tame at a lower lvl like the 17 and 18 golems. As far as the golems are concerned they are the best tanks when it comes to physical attack mobs. That's why you see a lot of venos with the same pet. Actually I like the fact that the best pet can be caught by any old "noob" as you say it. It's better than waiting 12 hrs only to be out-tamed by some higher lvl veno who doesn't have to lower the monster hp to tame it. As a veno, I'm glad there is only a few rare pets and that they aren't necessary needed like the golem is. If they made it the way you said, there would probably be a lot of venos (myself included) that wouldn't play the class for that very reason.

if pets would be like armor or weapons, u'd have to replace your pet each 5 lvl, and u wouldn't care about it as u do for the golem, and the lvl will never be a problem, u have to raise at least 2 pets, golem and swafly and really, it's the way it should be b:victory

The way things are at the moment makes you work to maintain your pets, makes it worth naming them and giving them skills and it's just generally more fun!

A pet started at lower levels will usually have slightly better stats than a similiar pet started at higher levels.... and I must put emphasis on the word SLIGHTLY, because it's not a huge difference. Higher level pets do have better skills.

And then you get an occasional curveball thrown at you, the level 45 Guardian wolves are better in nearly every stat than any of the lower level wolves.

Why wouldnt a sharptooth or a level 2 pet you get at the beginning be the best then if you wanted poeple to stay with their pets?
I still think there should be more diversity you may think it is exciting for everyone to have the same pet but I dont. Would you also think it good to have every character look the same, because then youre name and skills are more important?

Your options start to open up a little after level 30, Antelopes, foxwings, diabolic jester, two headed dogs, mechanical crabs, armored wolves, boulder throwing apes, frogs, flying pigs, armored panthers, polar bears, puppy dogs..... all good pets in their own right

The only pet that no veno should be without is a golem, and which golem you choose is entirely up to you, yes the lower leveled ones are going to have slightly better stats in the long run, but the higher lvld ones have better skills, so you're not gonna go wrong no matter which one you choose...... all other pets are entirely your own personal preferance.

If you must have the bleeding edge most powerful pets in the game then go ahead and pick the cookie cutter pets, there's usually a very good reason they're popular, but if you wanna have a little fun with the venomancer class, then go ahead and mix it up a bit, the only person it's going to matter to is YOU.
