Oy, does nothing work after reformat?

I'm a veteran player (err, 5 weeks veteran) and I recently reformatted my computer. I've tried downloading direct like I did before, but now whenever I get to around 1900MB/2400MB or somesuch, I keep getting disconnected from download server.
I used bittorrent and downloaded the client just fine, installed, and then it wouldn't update. I used the manual patch and it updated like it should, but my client still complains about not being able to connect to update server. OMG!
Also, since the reformatting, I've noticed that one of my other games stopped working, Wolfenstein ET (online game). If you're not familiar with it, just ignore this paragraph. However, could there be evidence of what I might be missing if I could at one time get into both of these games, but now cannot get into either?
The only possible thing missing I could think of is some kind of .net framework or whatever that stuff is. I had to download some version of it to play a different game before I ever found out about PWI. I'm sure I've lost it since the reformatting.
Any ideas? Any elaborations I can make?

Try hitting Verify for your files and see if that works.0

My first thought would be some sort of driver either not being installed, or relying on the default Windows version. There are a number of places where the default Windows driver is a bit... lackluster, and that includes some implementations of the default wired network drivers. Windows Firewall also turns on by default; if you previously had changes made to it, you'll need to add them again, and that includes Perfect World Entertainment's Launcher.exe and ElementClient.exe[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0

Well this is awkward...all of a sudden it started working perfectly.
Thanks for your help anyway ^^0
