What happened to my atributes?

I'm afraid this question may be nooby, but i'm really freakin out! :(
Well, i was killin Highland Turtles on level 8, excited about becoming a tiger next level. So a turtle dropped some necklase that said it gave +1 VIT, i was like YAY!, cause i'm a barb so i put it on.
I fought a little more, and i seemed weaker. I looked at my bag, and i found that some level 8 armor that required 16 str was red. I looked in my atributes and it said:
VIT-29
STR-15
DEX-7
MAG-5
What's up with that??? Before i put the jewerly on my STR was 16!
Now i can't wear any good armor and i can't equip my weapons!
I think the necklase i had on before was a Pure Gold Necklase.
And i think i must have sold it after i put the other necklase on. :-|
I have completly stripped all my armour, and still my lowered-stats stayed the same. Can somebody help?

    Sounds like your equipment was broken. Go to any merchant type NPC and press the repair button in their buy/sell screen.

    maybe the necklace you replaced with the new one had +1 STR on it, that's probably why your STR went down. You can either find something else, like belts, rings, armour, etc. that you can equip that has + STR on it (I suggest you use the auction house), or wait until you gain a level and put more points into STR.
