How many pk's do you need for your name to go red?

    Just 1 if you kill them before they attack you back.

    There's also different levels of 'red'.

    Different levels of red...
    Attack someone: Pink name. (If you don't kill them, name goes back to white. If they attack you and you kill them while they have a pink/red name, you can go back to white)
    Kill 1-3 people: Pink name. (assuming you kill them before they attack back)
    Kill 3 or more people: Red name.

    If your name is not blue or white, I would recommend staying away from guards in town.

    Or, if you're a tough guy, attack the town guards when you have a red name. If you can kill players, you can totally take lowly town guards out. It's not like they do 200,000+ damage per hit.

    I haven't pk'd since MY, so this might be a little off:

    kill 1-2 people, pink name
    kill 3-20, darker pink
    kill 21+, red.

    2 hrs of red/pink name per player killed... so it depends...
