Hi to all pro Wizs and also other rising Wizs in PWI,

i've got a qn and would like to hear u guys' opinion.

How useful is the skill stone rain? is it neccessary to max it out like pyro and gush? why?

and out of the lvl59 ultis, which one takes priority to learn first? then which to max out first eventually?

Would be delighted to hear all the opinions out there ^^

GL all and TY in advance! b:victory

I'm no pro at wizard, but I found stone rain extremely useful.
It's damage is very high, and if you see a water/fire mob you can use this in alternate to your gush/pyro.
It also makes a good pre-emptive.

As for lvl59 ultis, I think Blade Tempest > Black Ice > Mountain Seize is the order.

I only level blade tempest for now and focus on my other spells instead of trying to level two at a time. Blade tempest is your one hit spell towards any robe/light armor user. If you're ever fighting heavy armor you're better off using either fury or sutra to try to kill them because barbarians and blademasters have much more HP, hard to one hit. This is why I don't level black ice until much later.

For PvE, you do not _need_ stone rain.

For all encounters up to L60, you can kill any ground based non-boss mob (includes elites) with just gush without getting hit just by kiting.

However, stone rain is extremely useful both in PvP and PvE. 3 elements is better than 2, so having a quick earth element skill with a large range (28.4m) available at somewhat early levels is very helpful in many circumstances.
Stone rain deals more damage than gush and pyrogram. at L59, my gush dealt about 3.2k with the jones' blessing, pyrogram deals about 3.0k, and stone rain deals 3.9k or so. If a monster has 10k HP, it will take 4 spells to kill with just gush and pyro, but only 3 if i use stone rain. Quick higher dmg spells can make the difference between getting hit and not getting hit, not to mention the fact that you are now saving about 25% more MP fighting while using stone rain.

As far as the L59 spells go, most wizards prefer Blade tempest because it is more versatile. BT deals fire and physical damage, rather than just a single element. This means it is still somewhat useful against fire mobs, since only half of the spell damage is from fire.
However, all L59 spells will still deal a ton of damage.

If for some reason you don't like BT, maybe try Earth's Seize, since it at least has an AoE stun effect that will hit most of the time, which means it can even be useful against eath mobs.

If you just want a flashy spell that looks cool, go with Black Ice. It looks awesome, even if it is not really useful against water mobs.

I don't see why people are talking about using the lv 59 ulti skills in PvE. You will do a LOT more damage using your advanced spark eruption and casting pyro/gush/stone rain not to mention the fact you'll regain some mana too.

The only time I see the ultimates useful in PvE is when you know you can 1 hit the mobs, and thats only against mobs 20 or so levels below. Casting an AoE into a group of mobs your own level is never going to end in your favour.

But back to the topic at hand, yes level stone rain.
