I'm working on crafting and I'm curious how many levels lower I can kill a mob while still retaining the drops for crafting etc..

Everyone says high level characters cannot farm low level materials but nobody has said the exact level difference :D

Thanks Again

Typically, it's 8 to 10 levels difference is where item drops become extremely rare, but even when it is only 5 or 6 levels, you can notice a significant decrease in drops. You CAN still get item drops from things 40+ levels below you, but it ends up being extremely rare. Mataerial drops start out being rare, so the chances tend to diminish rather quickly.

I've been grinding 20 levels lower and still been getting Mats at around the right percentages according to the database..b:pleased

I got this from the forums,

Would be nice if I could get a clear cut answer vs contradicting personal experiences.
White named mobs/bosses and above have normal drop rates. First green (3-5 levels below you) has something like -30% rate. I forget 6-9 or 10. But 10+ below you is drastically reduced drop rate but will still drop. It's not that hard to test it yourself. I had a friend, level 9x, solo fb29 when bored and still got a gold mold to drop but it's super rare. All bosses with '?' as their level will drop at the same rate always (since they're treated as level 150).
