Should my Mana go down while flying?

I've had an Archer before my Cleric and the Mana went down as I flew around,
when I made my Cleric the Mana never went down while I was flying, making me
able to fly forever. I thought that's just the way they were made or something, now, I've
been reading posts and people say that your Mana goes down with the starter wings
(white wings) so I'm confused. Should my mana be going down when I fly?

    cleric's have an enhanced mana regen so they regenerate mana faster then what the wings can drain.
