Difference between Wizards with Vit and Mag

I heard from other chinese forums that for pvp wise, it is best for wizards to mainly put points into your vit since hp does matter and help you survive in both pve and pvp, but the question raised about vit compare to pure int wizard is that the damage for vit wizards is gonna be much less than that of a pure int wizard.

at a certain level, when a pure int wizard is doing 12xx dmg, a vit wizard is only doing about 8xx dmg....however according to the writer of that thread, it takes about 3 hits for either wizards to kill a single mob.....anyone have any ideas on it?? at the moment, im a lv21 wizard with 49 in vit and 59 in mag (due to req of weapon), but i do find it that myself meditate a lot lot less than those who puts more points into int.....hence in a way, i can level or kill faster (including the time it takes to meditate, which is freaking ages due to the slow recovery rate).....also, another thing is that, vit wizard can probably afford to aggro a bunch of mobs and KO them with just AoE skills (tho at this point of the game AoE skills does not work as fantastically as single targets spell)

honestly speaking, i dun find myself killing particularly slower than other wizards.

At lower levels when you're still meditating over using charms, it may seem that way. However, later on, charms allow any build to kill nonstop. That, and at 24 you can start healing your HP with Morning Dew rather than meditating or using potions the majority of the time. As you level up, you'll be much needier for MP than you are for HP if you're using your skills effectively as a pure/high mag.. namely gush, phoenix, and later snare. I can burn through my 8k MP in about 2% without a charm, while I tend to have barely been hit at all and usually I don't even use an HP charm. A vit build my level can't kill fast enough to avoid being hit most of the time, so yeah, things change.

Not saying there's anything wrong with a vit build, they hold their own, but they will kill slower over time in the end.

I agree with this. As a full int wizard, I can say that hands down I kill mobs much faster than a hybrid wizard of the same level. Last time I ran into one, they took 6+ spells to kill mobs that I would kill in 3-4 hits. They were required to kite much more, and had better equips than I did. Most mobs will be dead before they can get in range to touch you as a full int wizard. Now that I'm 60+ and have my HH weapon, 3 spells is usually all it takes to kill a mob. Sometimes they have a sliver of hp left, and I use crown of flames to finish them off because of its low mana cost and fast casting time. Water mobs are just cake, 2 spells gauranteed dead, and a crit from stone rain or sandstorm is pretty much a gauranteed one shot kill.

As far as meditating goes, I'm also over 8k mp when buffed with lvl 5 wellspring. I use the water shield almost exclusively because 10mp every second is nothing to sneeze at. I usually kill about 30 mobs before I need to meditate. When I do meditate, I make sure to rebuff mp shield and wellspring, then sit down, use mana pots because when your meditating you get double the effect from the pots. All in all downtime is roughly 30-45 seconds after killing 30 or so mobs. Never timed it but I would guess that only takes about 10 minutes.
