Using the Auction House

The Auction seems to me that if used correctly could be hugely profitable.
I think it would be helpful if it would show what items have actually been bidded on so a player would know what people are actually willing to pay.
I like some advice on how best to use the Auction House to turn profit.

Best advise with the auction house would be to watch the prices of things over several days. Common things, like DQ items or materials tend to have minor fluctuations, but still hold fairly steady. You can also often compare auction prices with what people are buying/sellinf that item for in their shops. However, it is VERY important to note that many people are on crack, and tend to buy for much less than the item is worth, and sell for many times what it is worth. That person selling Pig Iron in the starter city for 15k each, and buying for 100 coins each is on crack... If you are in a guild, you can usually ask the price for things, but asking in city can also occasionally yield useful information.
Ultimately, the prices should be determined by how much you think someone would want that item, and how greedy you are. If you think something is selling for too little, it probably is. If you think you are going to make alot of money from something, chances are that you won't.
Also keep in mind that placing anything in the auction costs 500 coins or more, so if you are not making atleast that much by listing the item at that price, you probably shouldn't list it. The fee is determined by how many items you list, and how long before listing, so even though you may be making money from the first listing, the ones made after it could be costing more than you'd make. For lower level, or specialty items, you're really best off just opening a shop with a name, and going afk for a few hours. If selling weapons, go near the weapon vendor. If selling Armor, go near the tailor, if selling DQ, go near the bank or teleporter, if selling materials or other goods, make a shop somewhere in the open.0 -
