Light Armor or Magic Armor?

Alright, so, I began off by playing on Lost City server.
So, I thought I'd give my hand at Sanctuary's server.

On LC, my Venomancer was a purely magical build.
She's lvl.38, and can't really take the physical hits -- which totally blows when her pet dies.

So which is the better way to go? Light Armor or Magic Armor?
How did you distribute your points?
Survivability?

    Light armor has decent survivalbility, though you'll have low base HP so you'd have to focus on finding equips with hp, magic, strength and/or agility bonuses. It has the second highest HP gain when refined. You base vitality can be 3, 5, or 7 stated in Senovit's guide.

    The build is +1 Agility, +1 Strength and the rest in magic. Strength and agility should be +4 your level to wear your equips.

    And you can keep some arcane equips on you and set it up on your bars to switch to if you're going up against a magic mob/opponent, but your hp pool may decrease :X. You'll have lower magic attack than pure arcane users but a higher crit rate. Fox change helps a bit with defense and you can choose whether or not to learn both trees at your liking.
