Light Armor or Pure?

So, which build is better for PvP, or even PKing?

I'm afraid to level my wizzy more, because I'm stuck pondering about this.
I read that wizards without light armor are '****' and easy meat, but on the other hand, pures make crazy damage and one-hit-kills.

So, to kill and survive, what do I need~?

Eh, just ignore the people who say those things. If they can't explain why one build is better than the other for them without resorting to that, their opinion isn't worth your worry.

The choice between light and robe armor is mainly a personal one based on your playing style. Neither by any means should stand still and take hit after hit, of course. Wizards just aren't designed with that in mind; being light armor does not make you a tank by any means. That being said..

Personally, I prefer the pure mag setup. I like always having to watch my step. It's challenging. I also like how I do reliable damage instead of having to hope for a crit. If I want spike damage, all I need is a pataka. Pure mags can crit as well, and hard. Crit gear is far from cheap, but it's worth it later. +pdef/hp armor recommended.

LA has its share of benefits, such as a higher bare crit rate (though one my level only has 2% more than me), a little more evasion (coupled with sandstorm's blind effect, this ain't too shabby), not having to worry with +pdef gear (just +hp), and not having to watch their back as closely. It also makes surviving ganks a good bit easier before you get your more pvp oriented skills to good levels.

You can find more about the two in the "higher lvl opinion" thread and some others around here, I'm too lazy to retype all the stuff said there. O:
