Cleric-Are you really up for it?
Please consider the question, this is coming from a cleric and DD
I cant stress enough the importance of the cleric's roles on parties/dungeons and what not.
I feel I have to spell it out for some of you, Clerics-are-healers. If you chose to be a battle cleric instead you need to make your team understands this, otherwise they will assume you're a healer.
A party with an absent minded cleric is fail. I've died unessecarily so many times just because one cleric was healing someone who wasn't tanking.
I even had one say to me during an FB29 "I don't like healing tanks"

I always mention to everyone that party with me: ''I am a full attack cleric, I am only a SECONDARY HEALER with a REGEN spell aka (also known as) HoT (heal over time) and level 1 Revive''.
What is great is that many don't know what the ''level 1 revive'' means unless someone knows what it means lol (guild members aren't morons so it's ok with them).0 -
Well... cleric CANT heal everyone.
You died many times? Tell ME. Ive died tons of times because archers and venos dont do they work taking aggro over me. My Hp bar has been at 1/4 and NO one took aggro over me.
End? Losing XP at 3.5% is not good while Ill have revive on lvl 5 and make others lose only half of 3.5.
Sometimes I do take the job to heal others because they are important too.
If veno dies who takes aggro away from me? So one heal is neccesary.
And dont talk about those crazy chars who believes that having a cleric mean inmortality. Tons of times they dont even look at my MP bar! If I dont have mana, who heals!! Yet they still go for death, and Im finally the one dying....
Thats why I only try to party my guildies0 -
I know there's idiots on both sides of the feild, i've had to deal with both >__>
This is mainly directed at clerics however. Just simply, "If you don't like healing, go battle cleric-tell people that you are one or make a different class".0 -

Ummm why are you expecting veno's or archers to take the aggro? Why dont you have a tank that knows what he does... Its one skill hit from barbarian and aggro changes instantly...
And that tank should allways be on lookout for runaways towards clerics.
Archers and veno's arent designed to take aggro... They do make nice dmg but if cleric constantly heals and allready has aggro, it is a lot more difficult for them to take aggro away than a barb.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

And that tank should allways be on lookout for runaways towards clerics.

Sorry, but often tank is too busy tanking mobs or bass and eventual ads should at least temporaly take someon else.
Full healing clerics have lowest HP and defense and main thing is if cleric die so do whole team.
If someon else die cleric can revive him and on higher lvl even one who died lose only little to none XP.0 -

Lol... learn to pull and lure? There is never adds on dungeon bosses when done right. On field,you should have chosen allready a spot where to pull the boss so there wont be any adds and allready taken care of its guards.
sure you get adds if you just run head long in or go standing on spots where patrols come near.
Keep aware of your surroundings.
I know how fragile full heal clerics are,thats why they dont die on our parties
Yeah i'm not trying to say that veno or archers shouldnt try to save the cleric. Of course everyone should do that if seeing a monster attacking cleric.
But so far up to dungeons to 49, if you get adds your tank isnt holding, you are messing up.
there's been a max of 4 monsters group to take, and single tank can hold them all very easily.
Not to mention using venopull, you can always get just one monster.
If you are getting adds,back up from the monsters location when pulling them.
There is never absolutely any problem with these monsters if you just pull em right. Otherwise your tank or whole party is messing up.
Only problem might arise from too low lvl compared to the dungeon and tank not able to soak the dmg. But then he can always kite. There's plenty of room for that.
Also timing your heals right saves yourself a lot of aggro. Dont heal the tank when monsters are running after him from a pull. Heal only Before tank pulls or After tank has hit the mobs with his aggro skills and you wont pull agro that easily.
Learning how aggro works helps a ton.
