Mount question?

Okay, so I just bought a CS panther+Spurs to lower the level... If I forget to feed it what will happen? Will I lose it or does feeding it just make it faster on it's feet? I would like to know.... I will not shove out $20 again... I mean if it dies and I lose the $20 I'll probally stop playing period.
90% of the cashshop games out there are ripoffs thats why I was asking.

Xarfox has a *much* better understanding of the internal mechanics than I do, so I'll quote him.

Just to confirm what some other folks have said in this thread:

Feeding your mount will decrease the chance that you will get knocked off when hit. Feeding your mount will also increase the rate at which it gains EXP.

As your mount gains EXP, it will level up. Each level makes your mount slightly faster.

You cannot drop your mount as long as you have it hatched and equipped. If you have your mount sitting in your regular inventory, unhatched, and go red, then you have a chance to drop it.

In short, feeding it will make it easier for baddies to interrupt your ride and slower to gain experience to go faster, but as long as you have the item a) hatched and b) equipped, it will not drop.
