okay so my brother just got the game. installed it okay and updated it with the new patch. he was able to create his character but when he got the "Welcome to Perfect World" screen it stayed there for a few minutes. then you could hear the music then his PC just reboots. I've told him to update his drivers but i'm not sure if that will help. any suggestions?

    1.59 GHz
    256Mb of Ram
    Pentium 4 1.60 GHz
    using a Nvidia GeForce2

    Looking at this myself can tell that he needs to upgrade.

    Updating drivers is always a good start. If Running a file Verify can help, as can making sure that the East Asian Language support is installed.

    Can you provide us the graphics card name and model? If you're not sure, use a DXdiag log :
    1. In Vista, type dxdiag in the Start menu search bar
    2. In other versions of Windows, type dxdiag in the Run command (Start > Run)
    3. For Win XP, Start > Run type in dxdiag, press enter.

    We're interested in the Display tab, Device box text.

    EDIT: Okay, was a little late. Updating the graphics drivers might help, but depending on what GeForce2 he's running, it may just not have the hardware acceleration necessary to run this game. Dropping the settings from the Launcher (especially Warp and Water) to their minimum may help.

    Yeah setting everything down as far as possible will probably be the only option in this case and even that may not work. If it does good if it doesn't a upgrade would be a good idea.

    256Mb of Ram -ok for Win98SE, ME, nothing else above that (no XP, no Vista or 2000)
    Pentium 4 1.60 GHz - barely
    using a Nvidia GeForce2 - ouch, I don't think so. Geforce 3s have some issues too.

    New PC recommended, sorry. Whether for this game or not.
    Do you need help learning about patching the game, installing it, changing antivirus/firewall settings, changing network settings, learn how to use a computer, keeping your PC maintained and more?
