Get past patching all files verified. Scaned computer no viruses. Added all the ip addresses to the firewall and opend port 29000. Still unable to login or even get a ping from the servers.

Ive disabled the antivirus and one time even disabled the firewall.

Odd thing about the ip addresses in the firewall. when i attempt to add them if i have the 29000 in front of the address it says its invalid. Does the 29000 listed in the sticky mean they only get added to that part (where port 29000 is now open in the firewall settings)? I pretty much added all the ip addresses to both the original selection in the firewall and to the new 29000 part as well.

Whats so special about 29000: in front of the ip addresses?

I also meet the min requirments all but the video card surpass the minimun reqs.

This is my first time attempting to connect never played before.

Oh ya heres a tracert for your enjoyment.

That tracert looks correct, if slow; border1 is where my tracert ends, and it's where PWI or their ISP/colo should be blocking ICMP messages if they don't like getting hit with denial of service attacks.
Whats so special about 29000: in front of the ip addresses?

Depending on where you live and whether you're on IPv6, the typical notation is either IPADDRESS:PORT or PORT:IPADDRESS. Your software firewall probably doesn't require that.

Are you running GameSpy or GameSpy Arcade? These programs use TCP port 29000, so they might be swallowing up the port. I think PWI has to use TCP. If that's not the case, do an IP config, find your local gateway, and check the settings on that device (navigate to its IP address, username is probably "admin", password varies from "admin" to "password" to blank).

No on the gamespy I have totalwar which would use it but i never planned to play that online so never set it up.

Now that you mention that my connection is somewhat slow. I am a little afraid to ask this but i dont suppose sprint mobile broadband has conflicts that you may know of? Unfortunatly my job doesnt permit hardwire/home connections due to my lack of being there.

I know how to run ipconfig in the command prompt and find my ip address but as far as settings for the device im not sure of. It shows some numbers for default gateway (mostly 0's)

Sry im not very great with computers especially the network/firewall stuff like this. I just learned today about the tracert and that i can add ip addresses to the firewalls exceptions.

I've had the same problem all day, I posted my Tracert 6 hours ago and got the same questions about firewall and antivirus, if the tracert gets 8 hops out then it certainly isn't my connection, firewall or antivirus keeping me from signing in

I wasnt going to say anything cause like i said i dont know much about it. However it does seem to be a pretty common problem for it to just be the users connection.

Tracerts only provide information on ICMP type 8 packets (on a Windows XP device). They're great for testing basic level connectivity -- they'll always fail if there's a significant issue on the layer 1 (physical), layer 2 (local data link), or layer 3 (network) -- but they're not good at detecting or diagnosing issues involving an application or transport-layer problems. They just don't use the same systems on a Windows machine.

Sprint Mobile Broadband is known to block several ports, as well as use the program "Bytemobile Optimization", both of which may be adding to this issue. If you have "Bytemobile" installed, uninstall it.

The former issue is harder to diagnose. Sprint is supposed to tell you, but in practice they're rather iffy on the subject. You may want to call anyway. As an alternative, using nmap and a known destination open on port 29000 will tell you whether or not it's a layer 4 issue.

If that is the case, you can bypass it either by contacting Sprint and asking them to change things, or by tunnelling out on an unblocked port, and then connecting. Unfortunately, that's a rather complicated process, requiring either a computer and internet connection that you trust, or a third-party source -- and the latter can be used in a similar method as a keyscanner or packet sniffer, so you have to be careful.

EDIT: the command inside nmap would be "nmap -p29001 -PN pwigc3.perfectworld.com"

Ah ok I will definetly have to call them and see what happens and check for that program. Thanks for all your help. Hopefully it will work out alright.
