Pet Tame skill problems. Please Help!

My wife and I just started playing this a couple of days ago, so beware of newbdom. I am asking this on her behalf, so keep in mind this is an issue she is having with her character. I have searched and searched through this forum and the 1perfectworld.com wiki and forum for an answer (or even mention) of this problem, to no avail. Anyway, on to the problem:

When her WF hit level 7, she tried to do the Sacred Beast quest. This is the one where you get meat from a Rhinodrake Plainswalker, then set three traps at these different assortments of flowers in this little village just north of Broken Bridge. Then you click the campfire, the Sacred Beast appears (invulnerable), and you lead it into a trap. Viola, quest done, return to the skill trainer for reward, and supposedly you can now get the Tame skill.

I say supposedly because that is not the case here. That is the problem. She got the reward, quest ended, but there's no skill, no books, and no option to even get the skill when she clicks "Tame Pet" at the pet skill trainer.

Two important points to mention that may have some bearing on why this isn't working:

1) She didn't even realize that this was the quest to get the Tame skill until she hit level 11. That's when she went back to see if it was available to find that it isn't.

2) When she did the quest back at level 7 (I remember this detail as I was with her), the Sacred Beast never got into any trap; it just appeared, attacked her a bit, then disappeared. Right after, she said that the quest read as completed and to return for her reward. This may have glitched, but she did still get a reward.

Is it possible to actually **** this up and not be able to ever get the Tame Pet skill? If not, how could she fix it, or is there any other way to get the skill? Is this just a monumental bug? Something we're totally missing? Help!
