Lag and Wizard PvE

Lag is a serious problem for spellcasters in Perfect World. Even in international, there's always that 1-3 second delay before you actually fire off a spell. Sometimes lag even makes you stop casting altogether for the longest time.
Most of you experienced wizards out there probably already discovered this, but a week ago i found that while kiting a monster, you can walk backwards with the S keyboard button and hold a spell key to cast a spell at the same time. The bonus to this is that the 1-3 second delay you get before a spell starts channeling is spent walking backwards, which means you don't stand there like an idiot waiting for the monster to hit you.
What i usually do is start off with divine pyro, then immediately follow with gush. I'll start walking backwards then, if gush's slow activated itself, then i immediately press the pyrogram hotkey and hold it whilst holding the backwards walking key. If it doesn't, I'll run backwards for a little bit before using gush again.
This technique has worked decently with me and my lagging wireless, or maybe it's just PWI? There may be times when i get lag spikes, where i run backwards and suddenly pop back a couple paces in front, usually right in front of the monster. It sucks....but hey, it's better than getting pounded on 100% of the time right?
