Game Update version 10

I only play on fridays, weekends, and holidays, so if a game update comes out during the week I wont get it until friday. I'm having trouble downloading version 10 of the game client, every time it gets to the end it brings up a message about failing to download and it starts again. I don't know what to do.

6.0 Patching the PWI game client


Q: How do I patch (or update) my version of the Perfect World International game client to the latest version?

A: It is fairly easy to do

1) Once the game is running, the Auto Update menu will come up where you can select which patch server to download the patch from.

2) The game will then seek out the server data and see if there is an update. Then it will automatically prompt you to auto-update, select Confirm.
3) The game will then start downloading the patch files, then it will apply them to the game. After this process is complete, you will be able to Start and begin logging in to the game.

If you not able to auto-update from within the game, please help us help you.

In order to help us work out the errors that are preventing people from patching, please send a message to our ticketing system http://support.perfectworld.com/ticketing with the following info:

1. copies of the following files (no screenshots of them please)
o \config\element\update.log
o \config\element\version.sw
o \config\patcher\update.log

2. A screenshot of where the patcher is pausing for you (please submit a jpeg and not a bitmap photo)

3. A screenshot of your traceroute to our patch server, 64.74.217.11

How to perform a traceroute:

1) In XP, click on Start > click on Run > type in "cmd"
2) On this screen type in (exactly as it is typed here): tracert 64.74.217.11
Please note there is a space between "tracert" and "64.74.217.11"
3) Wait until it bring a message back and a full log. Maximize (enlarge) the window as large as it will go and hopefully all of the text will be able to fit into the screen.
4) Press Prnt Scrn (print screen) on your keyboard. Open mspaint.exe (Start > All Programs > Accessories > Paint)
5) Click on the dotted line box at the top of the left menu to select a section > Click on the white space and press Ctrl+P to paste the image you grabbed with Prtn Scrn
6) Save it where you can find it, as a .JPG image.
7) Include in the body of your e-mail what Internet Service Provider you are using and what part of the world you are trying to connect from.

Alternatively, for those of you with an intermittent internet connection, or are having other internet connection issues, we have a manual patch available that you can download.


1) You can obtain the latest manual patches at http://www.perfectworld.com/download/client#manualpatch

2) Save the patch to the desktop or other area that you can easily find on your computer. It should have the file name and have a .cup extension on the end of it.

3) Launch the game
