Customization setting was off

I've been playing Perfect World for 4 days now, and i just noticed that i had the customization setting off the entire time..
I was wondering if its default setting is to have it off at the beginning or not, because i noticed SOMETHING was wrong when EVERYONE looked EXACTLY alike, but for some reason i didn't question it.
I think i just messed with the settings right when i began the game.
But ya.. was everyones customizatoin setting turned off when they first started and had to turn it on or was it always on?

The customization setting on the game settings interface allows you to turn off the character customization settings to make everyone look alike.
Idk why they added the ability to turn it off in the first place D:

    Maybe it's there for people who are laggy. If you look up at the top left above your character info and pick the "best performance" option, in addition to using the lowest settings it turns off the customization option.

    Mine was turned on too. Like /haiku/ said, maybe it auto sets it for low-end video cards?
