Mob DMG?

Hello, i been thinking a lot about dmg from mobs we fight and i like to ask: When we fight a mob that does not cast a spell, is that Physical dmg only even tho it says "water" under its name with blue?
or is it water dmg based but physical dmg ...?

I really like to know cause it will help a lot ;)
This game is getting more & more Hostility each day.

    I'm pretty sure that if a monster simply hits you, its phy based damage.

    If it casts a spell, its magic based so your element def applies.
