K I played this one computer with window xp. I got a new computer with vista. If I am in game my push to talk button for vent doesn't work. But if I alt tab out it does. I know some people who have vista, play PW and get their ptt to work. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

    Please give more details.
Do you need help learning about patching the game, installing it, changing antivirus/firewall settings, changing network settings, learn how to use a computer, keeping your PC maintained and more?

I have push to talk set for vent. When I am in PW for some reason my pust to talk does not work. I can alt tab out and it works fine. Go back into game it doesn't. I updated all sound drivers. Same thing. On my old computer with XP I can still play and talk in vent. But new computer has Vista. I know others have vista and use vent also and it works. So I was wondering what setting I have to change to get it to work for me.

The only support we can offer you is for the game. Vista handles things weird, and maybe Ventrilo has a beta version, or an updated version for Vista? Are you running 64 bit?

Ok...I have read the previous threads & there does not seem to be an answer for this issue. I have XP on one PC & have a new laptop that Vent was working fine but only for a few days. Yes, I have the most current version of vent as I pay for my own vent channel & keep up with it & also use another friend's server - neither work, even as an admin. I have tried changing the settings from mic to headset back & forth & that does not work either. (YES - this is 64 bit even though it says 32 bit & I cannot change that)

I did not download PW chat because I wanted to evaluate this game first and being that I like it I have been inviting people but if vent will not work they will not play and frankly I think I will have to pass also as using Vent is my main source of guild chat.

Any person or admin that is seriously willing to help figure this out is more than welcome for suggestions.

Vista has been very buggy with Vent since they forced everyone to the 3.0 upgrade. I'd take a look at the Vent forums if I were you. They have a number of issues you can try to solve your problem. I have vent and vista and have never had a problem playing PW either here or the MY version.

Try right clicking on your Ventrilo shortcut and choose "properties". Open the "compatibility" tab and at the bottom check "run the program as an administrator". Click "apply" and "ok" and you're done.

Hope this can assist some of you having Ventrilo/Vista issues :)
