In-Game Alerts

I think it would be a really good idea to have some in-game alerts options, to appear via text or even sound! Such as, when someone on your friends list logs on, faction member log on, when you get a whisper from someone, or countdowns during a quest that is timed. Another neat option would be to have an alert whenever your character's name appears in the chat box, so you don't miss out on any conversation in faction or squad chats because you're killing a mob and don't notice.
