Why Do Mods Get Personalized Forum Avatars?

OKay maybe Im just being whiney because I REALLY HATE the avatars we have, but I dont think its fair forum moderators get to have personalized Avatars just cause their mods....

It also shows IT IS possible to have personalized ones, so if they can have them I think we should all be able to have them. The mod I saw with one didnt even have a perfect world related avatar, which is even more unfair IMO......:mad::mad::mad::mad:

If those music playlist hosting sites can make custom dynamic signatures, surely PWI can allow us customizable avatars in the same manner.
The bat werefox avatar is particularly fugly..

I agree I really wish we could have custom avatars but I bet the reason mods get to have them and we dont is b/c our posts are not really monitored in a sense we can stick up for ourselves, mods cannot. Mods pm's are also monitored along with every single post they make. Their power limits are monitored in the effect they don't use it for the wrong purposes. They work for PWI voluntarily, the avatars are a way of paying them back for the work they put into the forums and the chains they have around their ankles. In other words being a mod takes away a lot of privileges that us normal forum posters take for granted.

Things mods CANT do:

-Stick up for yourself
-Tell ppl to stfu when they are being annoying
-Close or delete posts based on personal opinions.
-Have any privacy via PM's.
-Harrassed constantly by random forum posters via PM or posting.
-Have an opinion about PWI unless its "against" them, b/c people will bash you and say you only think that way b/c you are a mod.
-Have people get jealous and say you only got the position due to various unethical reasons.
-Post freely knowing someone is not breathing down your neck checking to make sure you arnt abusing your power in any way.

Those are only a few differences between mods and regular posters. A fair amount of that is why I think its beyond a doubt fair for them to have custom avatars.

Sorry, sounds like a load of **** to me. We were told that moderators would not be given any special privileges, and thus far it it isn't the case.

Not only do they get their own avatars, they have access to another board that we cannot see (if you're in the banned group, you can see it ), and access to information that we do not have.

Example, when I was trying to get my free ZEN and waiting for over a week without an explanation as to why I did not have it yet, it was a moderator who told me that there was a bug in the system and that is why I had to wait. Ridiculous how a moderator knew more about my problem that I had been sending PM's to admins and emailing customer service about every day to be given NO answer except "We're working on it".

They are staff members and you are not get over it. Of course they will be able to do things you wont be able to do. They also work for the forum adims VOLUNTARILY. Do you? I dont think so.

It is part of a mods job to help forum posters and thats exactly what they did for you. You are not a member of the company nore do you do anything for them other than post on these forums. You should not be allowed to see that other board that is for "Staff members".

I also believe when they said "Privledges" they where referring to the game not the forums. Of course they can close threads, delete posts, and sticky threads, you are not going to be able to do it. It is obvious they are a mod and are naturally going to be able to do things we cannot.

Its not that its an issue Harsh, but for me the forums are my home away from the game. As such I like for them to be just as enjoyable for me as the game is. Im a girl so sue me, I like pretty things and things I dont think are pretty but Im forced to accept as my own(like my avatar) really bug me.. Just cause I have to see it everytime I post, and its me posting. You dont get to see my personality, my style, my flare, what makes me unique.

Instead I get the same avatar as 2000 other venos.. What sets me off more than anything, is not only are some players getting "Personalized Avatars" and yes they are just players. I would like to point out they are not actual employees. They are players on the game just like me, who I guess volenteered to be a mod? Im not sure how they became about being mods and it doesnt really matter. Now not only do these other players get their own personal avatars, but the avatars they are using ARE NOT even related to Perfect World....

They choose to be mods by their own free will. They are normal players, they arent getting paid, they shouldnt get special privileges like that, that the rest of the players do not just because they choose to take on extra responsibilty.

If thats what it takes then fine, where do I sign up to be a mod?

I agree I dont like how we have to deal with these non-custom avies, but they change based on lvl from what I hear.

The mods are chosen via post history - the admins pick you send you pm based on how well they think you can handle the job and you decide weather or not you want to take it. They are not employee's of PWI no, but they are staff members on the forums. They do not get paid to be mod. Thats why I think they deserve to have custom avies no matter how mu;ch I actually want one

Facts about what happend to her - yes, but as far as how she believes it should be handled is totally biased. She is NOT a mdo nore does she deserve the privledges they reek. Not to mention she came on here to complain about anything BUT the avatars.
