DC's--Two Accounts, One Router

I was looking forward to playing PWI with my girlfriend, we play alot of MMO's together and PWI sounded like a great game to play (we liked Lineage2 which is very similar)

When one of us is logged in everything is fine, when the other person logs in we can't move or select anything and we get DC'd after a few minutes (sometimes just one of us, sometimes both of us) it is unplayable when we're both playing. Now this is network lag (either my network, my ISP's or the PWI servers) not rendering lag, we can pan the camera and have good FPS but we can't select, fight or any of those things.

We have been playing MMOs together for a while, we recently played WoW and Age of Conan together without problems so I'm not sure whats going on here.

Things I've tried:
Virus check, we have Kaspersky and we're clean (tried playing without an antivirus too, and we have the same issue)
Switched Routers, I have half a dozen old and new routers around the house, tried changing them and got nothing, tried disabling things like onboard firewalls too and still get disconnected
Checked Ethernet Cables etc and they're all in good condition
Called my ISP was told that they had no complaints on their end, they were able to ping me and I am able to ping them so they say thats all they can do about it

We can surf and download just fine, even play while alt tabbed and browsing, but when that second person logs on we get massive lag and disconnected, if it isn't an issue with PWIs servers I dont know what else to do, if other people are having this problem when playing with multiple accounts on one connection please post here, or if you have any ideas, Thanks

We have done this and have had no issues. We had 3 machines up last weekend.

To prove/disprove it is your ISP you could just transfer a file while the other played a game. A upload would be the most likely to cause a issue since most broadband connections have more up than down limitations. I have not looked at this game yet to see how much bandwidth it uses but most these games use less than a dialup bandwidth,

Finding issue like this with a router is much harder. Certain models have had issue with games in the past mostly related to wireless. I would attempt to use wired connections and see if still fails.
Your next option it to upgrade the router firmware and hope you get lucky.

To really find a issue like this with consumer grade equipment is tough. The method if it supported it would be to mirror the input and output port of the router to a external device running a packet capture software like wireshark.

there can be 2 problems what i can think of:
    1. a little easier fix ...IF it even works ( doubtful )
enable "UPNP" from your router settings.

    2. Since you have 2 computers behind one router and running same game, it may be PORT problem. It is common to cause instability, clients send and receive data over the same port may cause the server to treat multiple clients as a single data connection.
err... no clue how to fix that...PW uses only one port i think, well you MAYBE be able to bybass it with some socks program (freecap) or smth. OR check over your router settings.

Ports would make sense yeah, I couldn't find which ports PWI uses though

Thanks for the advice, I'll try a few of these out, later on I think I'll call my ISP and have them increase my upload bandwith just for a few minutes so I can see if that makes a difference, but I dont see why PWI would need more upload bandwidith then WoW or Age of Conan or any of the other games we play
