Say hello to your new forum avatar!

Forum avatars have now been launched. The following functionality has been incorporated with this release:
  • Your forum avatar will mirror your in-game character. For example a lvl 20 Male Blademaster will represent you in the forums as your actual lvl 20 Male Blademaster.
  • Your new avatar will also be labeled with the server your character belongs to.
  • You can easily switch amongst your other characters to represent you in the forums. For instance tired of posting as your lvl 43 Barbarian? Switch to your lvl 5 Venomancer.
Keep in mind that your new avatars essentially serve as "fresh" forum identities so all of your various avatars will have their post counts starting at zero. We hope that everyone switches over to your new avatar (just cause it looks so damn cool! :p ) but for users who wish to keep their old forum identity intact you can continue to do so with the caveat being that you will not be able to utilize the new collection of graphical avatars.

To see your avatar(s) selection, make sure you are signed into the forums and take a look at this page:

http://pwi-forum.perfectworld.com/index.php

Look for the ID box in the upper right corner of the page and hit the CHANGE button. enjoy!

    Thanks, I didn't know "Nickname" was my old account, doesn't help that it's the same as my character I guess, I sussed it out now. ;)

    hmmmm...unfortunately we are unlikely to ever allow users to upload custom avatars. nice design though. ;)

    That really sucks :( as per my other post I would rather be able to upload my own avatar :/ Even if it has to be PW related. I dont mind this as then I could at least make it so it actually looks like my toon.

    My toon doesnt look like this and having the same avatar as everyone else sucks.

    It will become a bit repetitve in the end, always seeing the same few avatars for everyone...

    I somewhat feel in jail with everyone wearing the same orange suits....

    The server and level thing is a nice feature tho.

    What's the reasoning behind this? I'd prefer to have my own avatar over something someone else made, even if it does update to include level or whatever. =/

    i kinda like thse standard avatars way better than some custom avatars who are 95% damn ugly

    While that's good too, it's more than likely to keep people from abusing it. I admin a few forums, people come up with some of the most inappropriate avatars, and it takes time away from other things to weed those out.

    *sigh*

    I like it but hate it at the same time. Nice to see the website integrated with the game, but at the same time I would like to have custom avatars.

    Also, my in-game name is "merulz" not "Merulz". I hate it when people capitalize my name.
