Ive been using the 1 agi, 1 str, and 3 int build and Im going for light armor. If I want to put some points into vit to not have so little hp, would that mess up my build?

Yes. Since 1 str, 1 agi, and 3 int uses up all the 5 points that are available to you each level, there really is no room for any points in vit at all. Unless you think the small amount of hp is worth sacrificing more pet heal/damage, or you don't mind wearing lower level armor or equipping a lower level weapon.
