STICKY this would you ...
silly as it is its the most comprehensive guide here !!

choose the item you want to craft from the list .. below it will show the materials required to craft
the item

If you have the needed items the START button will light up ... click it
the items will automatically be removed from your inventory

the items extra stats and slots are random ... you may need to craft a few items b4 you get one the
one you want / need

I order to go from lvl 1 to lvl 2 in crafting ... you need to craft 10 items
this is a chance to craft an quality item with slots and additional stats
Lather rinse repeat when it comes to going from lvl 2 to lvl 3
Watch the mat's needed to build your next wep and save up

    You didn't mention that you also have to craft a whole bunch of stuff at lvl 1 before you can craft weapons/gear at lvl 2 and a bunch at 2 before you can craft lvl 3. So don't wait and try to craft a lvl 13 weaspn (for example) as your first item b/c even if you got the materials...it wont light up the start key.

    You need to craft 10 level 1 items before you can upgrade your skill to lvl 2.
    Then you need to craft 10 level 2 items before you can upgrade to lvl 3.
    And so on with the skill levels.

    my brother's apothecary skill seems to be stuck at 10/20

    Maybe he didn't level it up to lvl 2 at elder.

    that is probably because the materials required to make items on the second apothecary tab cannot be harvested till lvl 20

    one question
    to increase the mastery of a skill do u have to manufacture items of that lvl or items that require that manufacturing skill lvl
