Theory behind PWI Zen Pricing

Just a little thought that came across me while preparing for work but yeh. You guys know the standpoint of the admins/PWI is that they'll wait and hear the opinion of the gamers and then determines the price, or something along those line. The reason why they start so high as 1 gold zen per 1 USD is because they want to cater to the people that are rich and willing to give up alot of money for a head start, with hieros/charms dolls, refinement etc. Then later on as the community revolt alittle more / threaten to go back to PW/MY leaving PW forever or watever they will "take it into consideration" and gradually reduce their price to appease the general public alittle more, and make them stay. It might drop to like 2 gold zen per usd or 4 gold zen per usd later. Once it becomes cheaper or almost on par with PW/MY, it will lure back those pple that previously said they were switching, etc, etc. So they want to hit hard make alot of money at first, then slowly reduce their price, just like how the hierograms work why dont they release o say like the platinum HP/MP charm at the start but only the bronze/silver first...later on they will add the gold which is cheaper than the prior and then they'll add the gold and eventually platinum. They can only LOWER the price of Zen, if they raise it...god knows there would be some sorta uproar in the community lolol. So they will start high and then gradually reduce it, you willing to spend alot at first will give u a headstart. What do you guys think? I wanna c abit of opinions/talk once i get back from work so rush rush :D

Reminds me of the iPhone and other types of hyped up products...

It definitely makes sense. They would like to cover the initial costs by starting at a higher number. I'm sure the price will eventually drop and it'll just take some time before it does.

The problem is..... when you compare Supply Vs Demand... are they picking the right Cost to get the highest return? Right now, many ppl are excited and might buy at these prices, but there's many of players that would like to buy but can't because they see it as being too expensive.

For instance, 20$ is the lowest amount possible? Thats quite high for many players. They will definitely have to offer better solutions for filling up your account besides 20$.

I understand what the company is doing, but I'm definitely on the consumer side and hope these initial prices drop soon.

1 silver PWI heiro mp/hp = 1 gold MY/EN gold heiro mp/hp. I think the current pricing is more about not knowing the game than maxing the price and reducing the price as needed to get patrons.

The "maxing price" marketing strategy pisses people off, and creates a "prices to high" reputation. Surly the marketing department knows that. It is always better to start low (business start-up costs) and inch the prise up as the market can bear it.

Having a "max price" marketing strategy only works with captive audiances (eg. $5.00 sodas at college football games).
    Is this post appropriate?

Isn't that called a SCAM??? With a company as big as this I don't think they would want to do that
The company can't take advantage of the fact that most of the ppl who are new to the game does not know the right prices.

Definition of Scam -- A scheme for making money by deceptive, dishonest, or fraudulent means.

I think it's only a scam of you're unknowingly duped into purchasing the items. No one forces you to buy anything to play the game, but at the same time someone who buys first without seeing the prices might be upset.

It's a deceptive way of making the person pay for way overpriced items. And as Katsu said gradually reducing prices later on for general public to stay hmmm

Did any of the GM's play another version of pw? Do they know how hard the game is in a normal server. Not private! Its sorta common sense to me. If I want to be fast and level faster than normal. I'm going to buy hieros, mounts, wings, ex scrolls, inv. stones.... But, why should I pay a higher price when I can get the same thing elsewhere.

I will give you an odd example. I went to walmart today I was looking at a book. I noticed on one of the books it was priced $8.78 the other was $7.79. Which book do you think I bought knowing they are exactly the same?

I would say the 7.79$ one , but im sure pve would answer the 8.78$ one (no idea why).

Well evrybody should sing the petition, lets bring a bit logic into this game!

    That comparison is skewed.
Your two "books" are in different locations internationally and depending on your locale, you might have faster access to one or the other....Plus one has a more accurate translation.
Also, despite what the actual equation of cubits to gold is...if youre paying american dollars to a company setup on the malaysian ringgit...you're looking at a 3.44 to 1 difference. So of course it looks like you're receiving more...because your money is worth more.
So, the question is....are you buying your cubits in dollars? or ringgits?
