    It's funny, I usually find that the short versions of anime songs are better than the full versions...maybe because they come with actual videos?

    The Black Lagoon has an awesome OST. In my opinion, its the best one that I have listened to. Second would be Eureka Seven.

    Anything by Yoko Kanno. She moved on to mostly movie soundtracks nowadays, unfortunately, so not as many people know her by name nowadays. My favorites from her are Cowboy Bebop, Ghost in the Shell SAC, Escaflowne, Turn A Gundam, and Wolf's Rain... but she's done plenty more.

    Other honorable mentions:
    Tenmon, who works closely with Shinkai Makoto on his films, is great.
    Taku Iwasaki and the Rurouni Kenshin OAV soundtrack b:dirty
    Joe Hisaishi, who works on Miyazaki's films (Princess Mononoke, Spirited Away, Porco Rosso, Laputa, Totoro, etc etc etc)

    Oh, and Sanshiru gets awesomeness points for mentioning Mushi-shi's soundtrack. b:victory
