Newb Question

Ok, so unfortuently I just found out about this game. I played it for the first time last night, started a cleric as i usually play in any game. I Loved it! Well I thought I would get some more insight on the game and come here. Im a tad bit confused though.

I see there is closed beta. I also see there is open beta.

Are the servers that are up right now just Beta servers nothing live? If thats the case, will they be selling the game in stores and charge a monthly price?

I do understand this is a huge game in other Countries and they are expanding it. I just dont have all the info on it that I would like so thought I would bring to all of you in hpes of some answers. Thanks in advance.

P.s. LOL took me about 30 minutes to figure out how to log off.

You logged into the closed beta. Its a stress test for the servers.

On tuesday morning the servers are shutting down and every character is being wiped. 4 hours from the servers going down, they will come back up for the Open beta. No character created in the open beta and on will ever be wiped. (Unless deleted by the user).

The game is not sold in stores, it is free to play. There is a shop that can be opened and stuff purchased for real money, (which is how the game is supported). These items help, but are not necessary for playing the game.

Hello Phoenix and welcome to Perfect World International.

We are currently in the Closed Beta phase, and all characters will be wiped at the end of this phase on September 2nd. The good news is that on September 2nd the servers will be brought back up, and all character data will be permanent from that point on.

What's even better news is that Perfect World International is free. You do not have to goto the store and buy a box, and you do not have to pay a monthly fee. Just as the above poster stated, there is a cash shop in game that you can purchase from if you choose to do so.

Lol here is something cliche...seems to be a perfect game for a pefrect world? lol If its free give me 3! J/k thanks for the fast response.
