How can sound be turned off?

I want to play the game without any of the in-game sounds. I have Music Vol., Effect Vol., and Quality turned all the way to the left, at 0. And yet, there are still sound effects that I cannot turn off. I hear footsteps and swimming, for instance. I am using XP, so I don't have the Vista sound mixer options.
Does anyone know how I can turn off all sound on the game? Thx.

Sometimes, even when the sound is completely off, you'll get sounds for no reason. Even full music tracks will pop up, play once, and then turn off. I find that this only happens in window mode, though.
I doubt there's any solution for it. It's a weird bug.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

Thanks for the reply, mystic. I'm glad I'm not the only one experiencing this bug. Let's hope the sound will be fixed for Open Beta.0

Update your sound card drivers, that might help.
Also check your settings, or OS system sound settings for how you have the audio running.
If you have other programs running that use audio, and switch a lot between those programs, you might encounter some issues too.Do you need help learning about patching the game, installing it, changing antivirus/firewall settings, changing network settings, learn how to use a computer, keeping your PC maintained and more?

1. Go to the bottom right hand corner of your computer screen next to the time.
2. Right click on it and click "Open Volume Mixer"
3. Scroll all the way over to the right or left untill you find "Perfect world international"
Once you have done that click on the mute button right below the volume scroll bar.
NOTE: Keep in mind you must have the game open in order to do this.
^^ that should solve your volume problems! gl hope it works.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]
