update freezes on elements.data

my updater cannot get past the file "elements.data"

i'm still on game version 1, and this is the first time i've tried running PW-International.

If it makes any difference, system specs are: T7100 core 2 duo (1.8 ghz), 2 gb ram, geforce 8600GT. i think my pc hardware is fine.

i'm running on DSL internet connection, so that should be fine too...

running from US, so IP should be fine as well.

any ideas on how to get the updater to work? thanks for any help

    I got past that and am now stuck on tasks.data. >_> They are big files but my internet connection is fine and they shouldn't be taking this long to download.

    I guess the solution is to wait for them to bring out a manual patch so we can download it directly. =/ But who knows when they'll post that. T.T

    I got the same problem and i am from Europe :(
    I don't use a signature.... I'm just cool like that!:cool:

    my assumption is that the patch servers are still not up so updates arent going to function properly for anyone itll all severs go up

    alright, at least i'm not alone with this issue

    its probably only because their servers are being overloaded with eager gamers wanting to play PW haha....at least i hope so.

    i'll try running the updater in an hour or so, and hopefully it works then.

    haha, well its only closed beta afterall.

    i'm just eager to see if the programmers and developers reamped any sound/visuals, etc.

    by the way, i'm loving your sig kaleidoscope. crisis core was pretty intense.

    FOUND THE SOLUTION

    just close patcher.. when it asks u again " resume update or restart update" chose second one and patch should go smoothly.

    try till it connects. btw patching elements.data takes aprox 20 secs -.-

    And yeah, CB and all but still. It's late and I was only planning on playing for x number of hours. Now I'm going to spend x number of hours waiting for a patcher instead. XD Laaaaaame.

    And Nuno, I wish it was working like that for me. D; But it's not.

    Edit: And just when I give up hope it starts working suddenly O:

    and for unbelievers.. servers r up.. no lags and fresh new PW. PWM was way worse than this ^^

    I wish I was as lucky... I already made a similar post in another thread, but I still can't get past element.data, even if I restart the update as in the second option. I've also tried every combination of update setting options... >.< A manual patch download would be nice!

    Edit: The error message I get if I wait long enough says "file download appear error", I think. Anyone know what that means?

    I know the feeling. A manual patch would be nice to have but I think it's better for the Admin to figure out why it isn't working for some people. A problem like this could lead to bigger one later on.

    Sachertortecake, I agree... Hopefully all will be well by morning. I think I'll give up around 1:30, and hope things are better when I wake up. :)

    ehh same thing spend bout 2 hoursto download elements data and now tasks going to be the same if the whole patch is that way ill spend about a day to patch it T.T could any gm set a manual to help ? T.T

    Same here cnt update at elements.data and u know wat's amazing
    I formatted my computer, before that game was working fine but after I installed it again it cnt UPDATE!!! Man i am the UNLUCKY GUY:(
