I just recieved an email about someone who knows "about the pvp server"
Do not download the file attatched.

Should be common sense, but I would like to just let everyone know.

    Personally my Hotmail is just 90% Viagra ads. Way to demoralize youth eh?

    So a random **** site sent him an e-mail which is clearly trying to scam his user account for an as-of-yet unreleased game? I believe it.

    And I don't get any Viagra ads in my e-mail. I guess their targeted advertising campaign is really paying off, huh? =P

    Also, I find it ironic that someone would make a keylogger for an unreleased game. It's like the stock market of account theft: stealing accounts which don't actually have any value yet on the premise that they might attain value once the game launches.

    In other news: how'd they get your e-mail? Since this forum doesn't display it. =/

    If there was a breach in here, more users should have got it too....

    NEVER open an attachment when it comes from a stranger.

    Be careful if someone you know sent you something you did not requested.

    Always have an up to date anti-virus software.

    Simple guidelines to follow, but it should keep you safe most of the time as far as emails are concerned.

    I was reading another thread and saw there that Arcane posted his email addy in one of his post.

    My guess it that the one who sent him the email got it from there....

    Yeah I know I can't open strange/weird attachment, but since this is my 1st time at PW i'd think its the GM's of PWI sending something to pump us all up with the game :) since the game is about to go CB

    Yeah, not always Keyloggers. Could be much simpler, with one of the webmaster's my companies site had before he has setup the companies website in one of it's many reincarnations were it had this "Live Person" service which tagged people that entered our site.

    From that point we'd know when someone entered our site and what site they were on before entering ours, as well as what site they went to when leaving ours. It's why to give places less information about my habits I made it a key point to always enter a site from a search engine and leave a site to a search engine (or close the window and start a new browser).
