New to PW need some help with Classes

Ok so I've never played PW before... but I've heard a lot about it. After doing some reading I'm not really sure what character would be good to play... I know we're probably going to wiped after cb is done but I still want to start off with a character that I'll possibly use in the game.

As of right now I only play Sword of the New World (Granado Espada) so this whole playing with one character thing is new to me since I'm used to playing with 3 at a time lol.

I like using ranged magic characters so my choices are between Wizard, Venomancer, Cleric and Archer.

I have heard that the Wizard is really hard to play because they only start kicking serious **** towards level 60 and I really don't like that they're casting time is long.

I like the idea of playing one of the winged elves because of the whole flight at lvl 1 thing and I'm leaning to the Cleric because I've played a healer before but the one thing that I don't like is that I probably won't be able to get any damage dealing. The Archer looks like a good character to play but I don't like that the defense is supposedly really bad on them.

The Venomancer is kinda my last choice because although I like that she can tame pets I really want to play more of a magic user like the Wizard.

So can anyone help me? Anyone have any thoughts on the classes or experience playing on other servers and how the characters stack up against each other? Any info would be great.

Well, i played an int cleric on PW-MYen and i wouldn't say they don't do any damage.
In PW the clerics aren't a purely supporter class, it's more of a mage hybrid.
The problem of clerics is that they always lack skill points & gold to level skills, they have too many that are needed in various situations.

You should take a look at the newbie section, there is a lot of info about classes there. There are also other threads that basically ask the same as you do - search through some threads here.

Ooo ok... sorry forgot to search the forums first T_T... I'll go look through them now.

I've read through the game guide though... hence why I've picked out 4 of the 6 lol... I'm so bad at making decisions lol.

Ya Venomancer is a nice class, but limited to a femal char, so if you feel bad in a femal body......bad choice...
That's why i am sugesting male venomancer;)

Only female class.

But the best class for a new person as they are said to be richest as they don't need healing and can farm pet eggs .. etc....

So to start with I will always suggest them.

They are female only characters but males can play..

I am a male and still I play it on delphi server.

1. You cant farm pet eggs anymore, atleast not in MY-EN.
2. Go priest (cleric) back on MY-EN we called Priests "O-Priests", or just "OP", because they are really an overpowering class, atleast early game, and lategame you're still going to be wanted in mass pvp as well in groups. Also plume quill makes you basically invincible.
