Hey all, im sure this could have went into the class discussion area but i didnt feel my question was really pertaining to clerics so here i post it =) I havent played on the other servers yet that are mentioned, so not familiar with all this. Was reading up on the Elf priest class and it was describing 3 different builds for the elf priest, FS -Full Support, the hybrid, and FA-Full Attack. My question is are the FA elf priest like a Paladin in other games? And if so would i have a hard time finding groups being a FA elf priest? Thanks so much!

if you mean melee clerics, then no, don't even think about doing it.
cleric has 0, zero, nada melee skills - you will be stuck with normal, low damage hits

cleric is a supporter mage class, not melee supporter.

The full attack build is for magic attacks, not melee attacks.

I have played an Priest but I have to admit, I kept forgetting to heal my party -- looked back, noted they were dead and went back to killing monster.

I have had an Priest duel me and they wiped the floor with me. Priests at mid-higher levels are really strong. Their skills are just 'wow'.

But the heal is the most important, for some bosses you need a certain level of skill to assist your tankers.

Clerics - (Priests) are in strong demand, and in my old guild - I assigned a tanker type to each Priest to ensure they could level and not get kilt.

Not all guilds do this but in my opinion, we need to help each class over these humps in leveling. Same with Mages, it is harder at first but once they get certain skills - WOW.

as stated no FA isnt like a paladin since the EP (EC) has no melee skills - only casting skills, so a FA build would be more like a mage

however, the 3 different builds described are BULL.

the situation of attack-versus-support builds primarily arises from need to decide HOW and WHERE to distribute your skill (as opposed to stat) points - at low-mid levels you do not have nearly enough to level even 1/2 of them to max level - but at higher levels this becomes much less of a problem

should you choose to concentrate on attacking skills more, you will find solo-levelling much easier, however with poor buffs / heals and a low level rez players may decide that you are useless for fbs / hh and find another preist instead.

my opinion is why would you want to play an attack oriented preist?, a mage (wizard) or EA would do the job much better.

3/4 of cleric's skills are support skills.
And i have a lvl 51 cleric myself. It's robe support build. High INT for more heal and more dmg as a bonus. I wrote support mage class, not support class.

Now, if every build works, tell me who would want to play a pure str/agi build.
