It has always baffled me how some people can say WoW sucks and then say their F2P game of choice has so much more to do. Can PW truly say it has more content than WoW? My answer is a definite no, but it doesn't make PW a bad game as I quite enjoyed it up until I hit the killer grind which is to be expected by now in any F2P game.

I'm in WAR beta right now and the differences between a quality P2P and any F2P is quickly apparent upon entering the game world. I wish I could share my experiences with everyone but everything is still under NDA. IMO if you absolutely cannot and will not play P2P games then PW is certainly one of the best available out there, but making comparisons between this and certain P2P games of the past and near future and you are already deep into the realms of no contest.

Not true - the International PW (the full version) will be better than most PtP games. PW has excellent graphics, a good pk system (white names should have a better drop chance, and dolls should be removed), a decent levelling system, a VERY excellent equipment system (which makes PvP all that much better), and will have awesome service.

As the game is further developed, the content will catch up - PW is still a new game.

In my opinion WoW is the stupidest most boring game in the history of gaming. If I had to choose from WoW or Maple story I would choose the **** **** 6 year old game.

Alright, I'll put in my opinion since it matters somewhat.

I've played PW since its initial MY-EN Closed Beta release sometime back and through that, I've come to play numerous private servers. I was guild-less during CB and I was with the Nocturnal guild during OB up until UnitedRU claimed the Hill of Scented territory, which was under Nocturnal's control. The guild master left the game, having been enraged by some joking spat over Ventrillo after the Territorial War. So that led to Nocturnal's fall and many of the crutial members went to Perfect World Europe and formed Rule34; it had its ups and downs, we had some very interesting moments but there was always a monolithic guild we were measured against. Anyhow, we grew tired of it when our guild master had abused his power and caused the guild itself to implode (again). So again, we went to other servers and since then, we haven't played PW and split to go to other games.

Anyway, even before the OB and everything else, I had joined ExtremePW Server and became the Commander of the Genesis guild, which later became a very hated guild (not a surprise). So yeah, from all that, we've had a great deal of experience in Perfect World.

Now to the point, when referring to Perfect World being similar to World of Warcraft, that wouldn't be correct. I have played WoW for a couple of months after we split off playing other games but still hanging out. I will say this: "Perfect World seems to be the addicting game." I couldn't find one thing that made me remotely addicted to WoW at all, it had no appeal.

We're at the end of this painful lil' post but it just shows that PW isn't like WoW and PW does have its quirks that makes it the better game. And with my flawless logic I'll say this too....: "It's Free!!!" Enough said!

This thread is still alive? Impressive. Not going to bother arguing more, but to continue an older conversation:

But the visuals in WoW are generic. There's virtually no movement of any of the environment to indicate a living world. There's just not enough content or interaction. Come on, get some life into the game.

WoW does have more complexity. It has ruined, burned villages where you can go in random houses and find mobs, along with all sorts of objects placed for the sake of detail. It has caves with a bit more effort put in them than PW's gray tunnel instances. It has towers you can climb through, jungles, swamps, you name it. PW wasted its awesome visuals on the same green-gray texture pasted over and over. There's no detail that can make you go 'oh they even thought of putting that there'. Everything is barebones and looks put together in a hurry. No matter how well detailed and animated, it doesn't seem like a world that's actually alive. Sure, it's better if you enjoy staring at your hi-res shining armor 24/7, but it does nothing for immersion.

Warhammer from Relic is an RTS. I'm not just talking about MMOs or RPGs. Some people thought LotR should've stayed as books because they had doubts. Everything deserves a chance if there's the possibility of something good coming from it.

There's several companies out there who hold the PC market. PC gaming isn't going anywhere cause it's the root of gaming. No PC games, no video card sales, no nVidia, no ATI, and no advancements for 5 years. I can see gaming die fast. Might be a good thing to make a repeat of the '83 VG disaster. The crash removed all the **** from the market and gave it new life. There's a lot of same generic "fast cash" **** in today's market too. I guess some developers don't pay attention to history or are just too young to understand.

In my opinion, the Warhammer RTS is terrible. It has fans only because of the tabletop but fails to do anything as far as gameplay goes. You can call me elitist, but I don't play games just because they have my favorite angry marines in them. As for the MMO, I'm not saying it'll surely be bad, but I'm waiting to see if it'll do anything better than DaoC as far as RvR comes.
Anyway, the PC gaming industry isn't going anywhere, but it's getting restricted to MMOs or scrub gams you play for 3 hours then regret paying/downloading (I'm not counting FPS and sports/racing because they fail as a genre in my opinion). I'm supporting Blizz because they went against the trend to turn everything into a MMO and announced a RTS and a regular RPG. Sure, they're sequels. Sure, they take years to release. But Blizz games are something you also play for years afterwards. I still play SC and D2. Even D1 is still enjoyable for its age. If they manage to release SC2 and D3, and they have what made most Blizz games good so far, I'll be happy. If not, I'll give in, buy a console, and keep my PC for anime and mmos.

I think the community needed something different. Everything now is mostly a grind fest.

My life has no room for more than one MMO. I'm a graphic artist by trade and am often busy doing freelance work. So having to pay for a MMO for the amount of time that I'll be able to apply to it, just doesn't work. The GW idea was great. Pay for the game but have no subscription fees. They get some cash for the game and you don't feel obligated to use the time you paid for before the month end.

You said people should just use a search engine to find better, free MMOs. You mentioned GW. There's GW, and... well that's it. GW is the only one of it's kind, making it's money out of expansion after expansion instead of subscription/cash shops. It's not really a profitable business model, which is why it's unique at what it does. I'm not saying it's bad. But there's nothing else like it. It's either pay a monthly, buy cash shop stuff (for what often adds up to more than 15$/mo), or play for free only to be vastly outperformed by cash shop users at everything you do, if you can do it to begin with. So, I have to disagree with your statement that coming here from a monthly subscription game (or GW) is an improvement. Hence my life comment.

Every MMO is unique. Well, maybe not all of them. Some do different things that you wish were in other games. I never had to think about what to use in WoW, I just spammed everything. The combat was so slow for me that I didn't need to plan ahead. That's what GW and similar games do. They make you plan ahead which makes the outcome more interesting.

I don't know what class/build you played but spamming everything has never been a solid strategy in WoW. I did agree it being slow-paced could be an issue for people, though I found the speed apropriate; turning it up would only favor those with godly keyboard skill/reaction time. Also, it's not a matter of planning ahead as much as real-time decision. You need to wait for someone to make a mistake, trick him into using his counters when they're not really needed, or wear him down with better management of your resources. But yes, this leads to slow paced combat, combined with arenas being attrition games with people stacking resilience and using survival builds.

1. Get some money
2.cant say get a life becuz well im on forum too xD but i can say download WoW
3.Go spend that money u earned on a trash game that the highest lvl is 70.. no freakin challenge "AT ALL"
4.never talk again u make urself look bad

and if u do already play perfect world i hope its oracle server and if it is my ign is

That's just my opinion. (If anyone in this forum is homesexual and may have found that offensive, you may flame me, I deserve it, but I intended no sign of homophobia or a sense of hate crime.)
