Client needs to update, but it won't

So I haven't played the game in a while and I had to reinstall it after getting a new hard drive. I reinstalled Arc, downloaded the game, then tried to launch the game. But after the launcher comes up and loads in some stuff it gives me a small window that says "Client needs to update Please select method". The only options it gives me is auto and cancel. If I click on "auto" I see the confrim update window appear for only half a sec, maybe less. But it disappears far to fast to click on it. And then nothing happens. The launcher goes away and it doesn't launch the game or upload any kind of update. If I open the launcher again it does the same thing. Has anyone else had this problem and know how to fix it. I can't select manual on the top of the launcher because that option is grayed out.
