Sky Cover Cloud str ring public quest is it still possible to make that way?

I have been asking people in PWI if it is still possible to do the trench and get the rings like when tideborns came out at this point I dont care if I have to solo that public quest to get them, from what i remember is only needs 3 items or more.

What I dont remember is the time it opens or is it a weekly?
I know its on Rotter trench on the right side the level 100+ side.
People tell me to just buy the rings ..... comes at a cost of 50 mil on my server so nah its easy enough to farm on a barb or cleric, if other people still do it even better after all it is a public quest.

I just need to know when it is and if you can still aquire the rings that way thanks.

    Yes you can still acquire the rings in that way but the quest is pretty buggy. It's available between 9am-1am server time each day, the NPC is the Tsunami Army Messenger at 570 134. He won't be there if the quest isn't available. Regarding the buggy part, after you complete each part of the public quest you get hit with a bunch of failed quests, and then you have to go pick up the public quest at the beginning NPC again. You also have to do this within 1 minute after the boss dies.

    The reason people recommend you buy the rings is because actually getting one by farming public quest takes an extremely long time. I personally farmed my own ring using this method and I can say it was definitely not worth the time I invested. I know you probably don't wanna read that but you should know why people say to just buy the ring.

    It's not just 3 items or more - you actually trade in a certain amount of Nightspike Crystals for a CHANCE at making the ring. Using 25 Nightspike Crystals is a 9% chance, 50 of them is a 19% chance, 100 of them is a 39% chance, and 200 of them is an 80% chance. There's no 100% chance to craft it in that way.

    So if you're ranking 1st place for your class (which I assume you would) then you will get 1 Nightspike Crystal per run. 25 runs for a 9% chance to make a ring at the very minimum. I did this route and I was not very lucky and it took me more than a few months to successfully craft the ring, and I would run it 3 times a week, roughly 8-10 runs each time, with the help of a r9r3 sin to make it a whole lot faster. I also don't know what it's like now, but when I'd go I was taking faction members with me and I'd rarely find other people out there.

    ah very good to know perhaphs I will just buy em but i will try and find a deal preferably one that has not been altered i can upgrade myself.
    I am currently using FC gold rings and 2 of em i might add, you know how many hooleen chests i opened to find those?
    10x a day for 8 months i got 2 and 2 gold meelee rings and almost the entire set of fc gold weaps lol even enough FC crystals to make my own weap lol.

    I am a persistant bugger but that whole glitching talk to npc within a tiimeframe and such .... it was never like that at first guess they messed it up.

    I am more a gambler even now i make lvl 4 glyph with 3 lvl 3 lol sometimes a lvl 2, id probably try 25 for 9% lol I been fairly lucky with low odds its strange.

    I will still try but perhaphs ill buy 1 first if I can find a decent price, thank you for your reply :)
