Just a little public announcement to give you guys a heads up.

In case your connection goes through some Comcast hubs, you may not be able to connect to anything currently. As near as I can tell right now, Comcast's network is mostly down across the entire nation to varying degrees, and has been for several hours now.

Hey, most of us have Cellular too. normal-1.gif

Plus it's possible that you don't personally have Comcast, but can be affected by one of their regional hubs being down.

Have they fixed this yet? My at-home ISP is Comcast, though I would assume outages should be handled at this point.

I got internet back last night, but it's still spotty in a lot of areas. Most recent outage reports originate from Houston, Mountain View (practically right next door to the PWI offices IIRC), Denver, Oakland, Chicago, Miami, Hayward, Detroit, Portland, and Santa Clara.

From what I've been able to determine so far, this was a routine maintenance that went horribly wrong. Getting more specific details from Comcast/Xfinity is like pulling teeth though.

If you are affected, contact customer service. They will credit your account if you are nice.
