Why are the events held at specific times? Why not make them available any time throughout the day? Very odd for a game thats supposed to be international.

If you are referring to special, occasional events like Wraith Hunter and Santa event, it's because having them available 24/7 would mean being able to do it only once per day. Which might as well become a daily. While setting several fixed timeslots throughout the day allows us to do them more than once.

Other weekly events like NW, RW, Tiger event and whatever other events there are (some of them I never did so I could be wrong here) are competition/teamwork based and require solid participation in order to work. If they would be set to be 24/7, everyone would just do them whenever they can throughout the day and you would have a really low number of people who do it at the same time.

Having them only at specific times of the day is pretty much the whole point of them being an "event" imo. If they were 24/7, it would just become a daily. Maybe they could somehow alternate the timeslots or make 2 different ones (eg. for NW) so both EU and US players can participate at normal times, but I don't really see that happening ​​
