Dominance Tome Binding

Hello, I'm asking if upgrading a bound LUAD (or equivalent SoT item) into a Dominance tome would still result in the Dominance tome being unbound. I've heard conflicting information from guild members, such as it being recently changed - anyone care to give a definitive answer?

    @boreai i upgraded PanGu into LuaD which turned out bound. Then i upgraded LuaD into Dominance tome and it was bound. Only when i upgraded it to Emperor it became unbound.
